2 days Murchison Falls Safari Uganda, Murchison Falls, also referred to as the kabarega falls is found on the course of the Victoria Nile. Murchison falls National Park is the largest and oldest conservation area in Uganda. It lies at the northern end of the Albertine Rift Valley, where the sweeping Bunyoro escarpment joins together with colossal palm dotted savanna in the Acholi plains. The park is home to over 76 species of mammals and 451 birds which are pleasant to the eye.
Day 1: Travel to Murchison falls-afternoon boat cruise and evening hike the top of the fall
Drive to Murchison Falls National Park. Check into your booked safari lodge. After lunch you shall have a boat ride on Victoria Nile, the launch trip starts from paraa dock and it sails up stream towards the legendary falls. Enjoy as the boat sails through a number of hippo schools floating on water, a couple of oribis, flocks of warthogs, herds of elephants, beautiful water birds and crocodiles that laze at the bottom of the falls. It is such thrill riding in a midst of the majestic River Nile.
Later on, embark on an-hour hike upwards to the Top of the fall where you get the best time watching the birds, rolling hills, and also enjoy the spectacular view of the Nile and the landscape in the park as you listen to the roars of the mighty falls. Meal plan: F/B
Day 2: Morning game drive – exit the park for Kampala
After an early breakfast, we head out for a game drive. This is a beautiful drive across the savannah, Borassus Palm Forest and grassland down to Lake Albert where the Albert Nile heads north. Drive in the open African savanna in search for Lions, Leopard, Hyena, Buffalo, Elephant, Jackson Hartebeest, Oribi, Waterbucks, Uganda Kobs, and enjoy spotting various Bird species such as the Secretary Bird, Black Chested Snake Eagle, Tawny and Marshal Eagles Carmine and Swallow-Tailed Bee-Eaters, and many more.
